Following the “9/11” attack and subsequent invasion of Afghanistan I began a series of CDs collecting new and old topical songs that I enjoyed performing, Homeland Security includes some pieces rarely done in other contexts, including covers of Ed Sander’s JImmy Joe the HIppy Billy Boy and Ray Wylie Hubbard’s Against the Wall you Redneck Mother (with Roy Paci on trumpet!) When the Homeland Security department began leaving behind notes after rummaging through one’s luggage, I began collecting the notes and making small runs of my CD whenever I had accumulated a few of the forms. Thus the stock of how many copies is printed depends on how many times Homeland Security opens my luggage, and however many get printed always sell because the cover is so weird, a casual shot of high school lads farting about in one of my daughters’ rooms.
