MAD DR. JUKEBOX

$15.00

SUPPLIES DWINDLE took off one summer when a cover band put it

into their top 40 set at a Spanish campground party. It made me realize

how often I had taken aim at the top 40. So here we go, slipping something

into the ecstasy of Toni Basil’s OH MICKEY,  driving through the

Turkish and Bulgarian borders for Slade’s MAMA WEER ALL CRAZY

NOW. The Eugene Treat Trio presents a medley of BEST KEPT SECRET,

a smash in the Benelux forThe Rhythm Junks, and Dollar Brand’s gold

AFRICAN MARKETPLACE. Done ignoring country and western,

IT’S FIVE O CLOCK SOMEWHERE for Alan Jackson. CRAZY TRAIN

of Ozzy I learned for a guitar student circa 1981.  First time I heard Music

Machine’s  TALK TALK I was playing basketball in Boulder,

TIME AFTER TIME was in a  bar in Denton before a Shockabilly gig.

DEBUT TO MADONNA was my children making fun of a Pocahontas

classic at the dawn of the Jungle era.  Lauryn Hill’s LOST ONES, Dick Feller’s

SOME DAYS ARE DIAMOND and the Country Boobs era dawns

on Nancy and Lee’s SOME VELVET MORNING.  The James’ Gang’s

FUNK 49,  Rascal’s GROOVIN’,  Mystikal DANGER! , and as all things

must end, a night of long knives in a Freiburg bar, sailing toward the

SOUTHERN CROSS.   A comeback hit!   DON’T STOP THINKING!
