The HEAD OF BOOKS

A new initiative begun September 2021, proposed to last until January 1 2025.

The idea is to record and distribute a guitar solo every day during this period. The solos will be sent out as download links via we transfer and are high quality wav.files.

It is another chapter in the documentation of my music which began with vinyl in the mid 1970s.

With the HEAD OF BOOKS there are no objects, no distribution costs, no interference from international customs.

The solos are “free use” and indeed, collaborative recycling of the material by the participants is encouraged.

You have now arrived at an official “link” to the Head of Books. A nominal $2 charge is connected with the sign up, you will then receive a download link to a document with information and answers to questions about this initiative. The important thing for us to receive from your end is an email address to send the wav. files to. In order to sustain the program it is important to make more substantial donations than the sign up charge.

Due to extra charges customers are reporting linking paypal to credit cards, several expanded links have been added to the shop in connection to the Head of Books. If payment is made to these links, the customer will begin receiving the solos but also receives a link to a taste of archive material from the series.

One subscriber established a donation of $14 each time enough material had been received to put together a CD, which seemed like a nice idea even though the playing times of all these media over the years has an arbitrary effect on the content of the program. A third link provides a chance for a $50 donation.

There is no set or required donation. I am leaving this up to the imagination and generosity of the donor.

In order to be added to the list and receive solos, one has to provide an email address for the wetransfer delivery.

In the case of both Paypal and Venmo, the payment notification does not always list the sender’s email, so please send an email confirming you are joining or else I have to search for that information.

The framework, indeed unstructured, has already resulted in 100 times the income of the past 10 years of “Spotify.”
