THE VENTURES WARM UP

$15.00

Initiating a new series of remastered editions of material originally released on the Parachutist cassette line and then temporarily missing from my archive, this duet performance with David Licht takes us back to Monday night, Nov. 16, 1982, when we split 100 bucks to open for The Ventures at I think The Brewery in Raleigh. I associated the Ventures with hip guitar instrumental music so figured it would be an easy step for the audience from there to my stylings which at this time included use of live reel to reel tape sound effects and the electric rake. The audience turned out to be squares into nostalgia and The Ventures themselves did not hear our set, but we got a grand board tape which I promptly released, adding some material David and I recorded a few nights before at our regular haunt, the Niteshade Cafe on Tate Street, and in face these excerpts include not-so frequently done covers.
