On our final tour together Jimmy Carl Black and I were asked to do an all Zappa night for the Pit Inn in Tokyo as part of a two night stand. We set rules that the songs would either be by Zappa, recorded by Zappa or about Zappa in some way. We only broke the rules a few times and the audience recording that I tweaked represents a selection largely of Jimmy’s favorite Zappa songs, from the first three Mothers of Invention albums and his absolute favorite, Reuben and the Jets.
